The most important thing that Sickle Cell Carriers can drink to prevent themselves from becoming dehydrated is water. Gatorade is a good drink to consume right after you have worked out a lot or performed any physical activity which caused you to sweat a lot and can help temporarily to cure dehydration. It is important to know that Gatorade should never be a substitute for water, and that it is recommended that the average adult should drink 8 to 10 glasses of water a day.

Gatorade is designed to replace the salts (electrolytes) that you lose when you sweat a lot. If you are not losing salt, drinking gatorade adds more salt, too much salt is not good for anyone and can CAUSE DEHYDRATION.
